Post-16 alternative provision remains one of the most underdeveloped areas of the education system. As the SEND Review continues to reshape the national landscape, Nulogic is responding ahead of the curve. Bringing the same specialist, therapeutically informed expertise that defines our school-age work into the Post-16 space.

This is not a reactive expansion. It’s a deliberate, purposeful commitment to filling a genuine national gap for learners who may experience being NEET and/or have an EHCP.

New specialist Post-16 provision
Nulogic offer specialist Post-16 provision at our Coventry based sites, The Forge and The Workshop - a purposeful, vocational programme for young people aged 16–19 with SEND who are at risk of, or already experiencing, NEET.
As a registered provider, we can be named in Section I of a young person's EHCP. This means local authorities can commission us as a placement, not a short-term intervention, giving learners the continuity, stability and specialist support they need at one of the most critical transitions of their lives.

Hair & Beauty
Hands-on, industry-standard training that prepares learners for the professional salon environment. Learners work towards a recognised (City and Guilds?) vocational qualification and leave with the practical skills and confidence to pursue employment, an apprenticeship or further training in the beauty industry.
Construction
A practical trades pathway aligned to real apprenticeship and employment routes. Learners develop hands-on skills in a professional environment and work towards a recognised (type) qualification that opens doors to the construction industry.
Sports & Leadership
Active, team-based learning that builds physical confidence alongside coaching and leadership skills. Learners gain a (NOCN?) vocational qualification and develop the communication, teamwork and resilience that employers and further education providers value.
Digital
Future-facing skills including content creation, design and digital communication. Learners develop practical, portfolio-building skills in a fast-growing industry and work towards qualifications that support progression into employment, apprenticeships or further digital education.
POST-16 continuity from school-age
For learners who have been supported by Nulogic through their school years, whether through a school inclusion base, specialist outreach or mentoring, our Post-16 provision offers a natural, connected next step. There's no starting over, no rebuilding from scratch. The trusted relationships and specialist understanding that have supported them continue into Post-16.
Integrated learning and support
Our Post-16 programme integrates accredited vocational learning with embedded therapeutic support and one-to-one mentoring, delivered by a specialist team with expertise in SEMH, trauma-informed practice and EHCP compliance.

Ongoing mentoring support
Every learner on our Post-16 programme has access to structured one-to-one and group mentoring - not as an optional extra, but as a core component of their provision. Our mentoring draws on the same SEMH-informed, relationship-led practice that underpins all of our work, ensuring that young people who have previously experienced school avoidance, exclusion or disruption have consistent, trusted adult support as they navigate this critical stage.
Post-16 EOTAS & EHCP learners
A significant number of our Post-16 learners are EOTAS young people - aged 16–19, with EHCPs, whose education is commissioned directly by their local authority. We understand the statutory framework and work in close partnership with local authority SEND and alternative provision teams to ensure every placement is well-governed, outcomes are tracked and annual review evidence is robust.
For local authorities, our Post-16 provision is a quality, accountable option for young people who need specialist support to progress into employment, training or further education.
